Contrary to what I thought, the eruption did very little damage to the city. Construction began in around the 6th or 5th century BC, and was a thriving community. An earthquake damaged or destroyed much of the city in 62AD, and was still under reconstruction when the eruption took place 17 years later that buried the city under ash. Download
